Join Green Iowa AmeriCorps and the Waste Trac Education Team for a Trash to Treasures repurposing craft program at Hawkins Memorial Library. Stop in and make fall and holiday crafts from junk! Create pumpkins from sheet music, transform an old milk carton into a gingerbread house, and reuse jigsaw puzzle pieces and old holiday cards in creative new ways. These activities are suitable for crafters ages K-8th grade, but older siblings and adults are encouraged to stay and help the younger ones.

This open house style library program is on Wednesday, November 14, from 3 to 5 PM. Drop in to make one repurposed craft or stay for the whole time and do all the age appropriate projects.

This fun, FREE craft program is in honor of America Recycles Day, a national celebration taking place annually on November 15 which recognizes the benefits of recycling while providing an educational platform to help raise awareness about the value of reducing, reusing and recycling – every day – all throughout the year!
