Irene Jeanette (Clark) Johnson, 90, completed her journey here on earth on Friday, September 11, 2015 at home surrounded by family.
She was the daughter of Otto Franklin (Bud) Clark and Ethel Eleanor Lofgren Clark, born in La Porte City on August 1, 1925. She grew up on a farm, graduated from La Porte City High School (1942) and Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls (1947). She was united in marriage on August 26, 1945 to Robert Harold Johnson. Together they enjoyed 62 years of marriage. She taught school and operated fast food businesses with her husband. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1956. She enjoyed antiquing and taking long walks on Colorado Avenue.
She is survived by two children, Debra Johnson Anderson and Eric Clark Johnson both of Colorado Springs, five grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, George, Harold and Leonard Clark and sisters Florence Miles, Dorothy Lockhart and twin sister Arlene Wagner.
She was an active member of Pikes Peak Church of Christ.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, September 24 at 10 AM at Pikes Peak Church of Christ, 1402 West Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO. Irene will be buried at Fairview Cemetery with her husband Robert.
