James David Jenkins, 55, of Mason City, IL, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015, at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville, OH.
Jim was born November 27, 1959, in Waterloo, the son of Charles and Margaret Jenkins. He married Tracy Jo Myers December 17, 1994 in Mason City, IL.
He is survived by his wife Tracy, daughter Katie and son Joe David, all of Mason City, IL. Also surviving are five brothers, Robert (Vicki) of La Porte City, Marshal (Jill) of LaMor, MO, Mark (Theresa) of Floyd, Mike (Becky) of Weatherford, TX and Joe (Penny) of La Porte City, and one sister, Mary Graves of La Porte City and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Charles Allen and one sister, Patricia Louise.
Jim was an apiarist (bee keeper) and a commercial painter for 35 years, last employed by Midwest Paint Service.
He was very proud of his family and always willing to lend a hand to help family and friends. He will be remembered by many.
A private memorial service was held August 30 at United Presbyterian Church in Mason City, IL, with the Reverend Bonita Clark Quandt officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held for him on his birthday at his family home in La Porte City.
