There’s a new league in town. Can you say, “cornhole?”
The La Porte City Lions Club will offer a cornhole (bags) league beginning Thursday, December 1. Matches will be held at the La Porte City Golf Club for two-player teams who will compete for cash awards to be disbursed to the top three teams at the conclusion of the league tournament.
League play will take place every Thursday evening. The last day to register is Saturday, November 26. The entry fee for each two-person team is $40. The league will distribute 50% of the fees collected to the top three teams at the conclusion of the league. The remaining 50% of fees will go to the La Porte City Lions Club to be used in support of the club’s community activities. The team that wins the end of year tournament will also receive t-shirts commemorating their victory.
The official rules for the game are governed by the American Cornhole Association and can be viewed at www.playcornhole.org.
