In an event that is billed as the most prestigious high school event in any sport, a showcase for college wrestling recruiters, Union’s Max Thomsen took on all comers from the north, south east and west, emerging victorious as a national champion in the 138 lb. weight class.

Thomsen, a junior and three-time Iowa state champion, wrestled a total of six matches at the National High School Coaches Association’s National Wrestling Championship held in Virginia Beach, March 28-30.
