Esther Irene Greek was born December 4, 1924, in Phillips, NE, daughter of Henry and Anna (Hamer) Tobiason. She was raised in Nebraska, graduating from Silver Creek High School.
Esther met Maurice Greek after his service in the United States Army and the couple married on December 4, 1943. Esther and Maurice spent their first years together in various communities in Nebraska and Iowa, finally settling in the La Porte City area. She led a busy life keeping their home and raising their children. She will be particularly remembered for her raisin cream pies!

Esther and Maurice travelled after his retirement, wintering in southern Texas and taking lengthy trips to Alaska, Europe and Israel. Most of all, Esther enjoyed her family – especially her many grandchildren!
