The Union Knights’ fifth consecuitive trip to the State Volleyball Tournament ended sooner than they wanted, as the top-ranked and eventual State Runner-Up Mt. Vernon Mustangs eliminated Union in straight sets on November 11. The Knights were unable to sustain an attack against the Mustang defense, as Mt. Vernon won by scores of 25-16, 25-16 and 25-21. Maria Wrage led the Knights with 13 kills, while Cierra Nolan had a team-high 10 digs. Maggie Driscol led the team with 23 assists. Union, ranked 11th in the final season poll, completed the 2014 campaign with a 24-12 record.
