Young readers will explore fitness and fun this summer as Hawkins Memorial Library presents “On Your Mark, Get Set, Read” during their summer library program. Special programs will include Mad Science with the Grout Museum, Make a Bullseye with Double Lung Archery, the La Porte City FFA Historical & Ag Museum Butterfly Garden, and H.E.R.O.s with Jester Puppets. The 2016 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, preschool through 5th grade, with programs, prizes, stories, crafts and more.
Registration for “On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!” is open now. Once registered, participants can begin filling out their reading log and are able to choose a prize for every two hours spent reading – all summer long!
