This year’s Festival of Trails Parade is sure to be a crowd pleaser. The parade will be held on Friday, June 13 at 7 PM, downtown La Porte City.

In keeping with the theme “Looking Back and Moving Forward”, the parade lineup will have something for everyone.

Joe Winters from KCRG-TV 9 will be doing the weather broadcast live from the parade, allowing people throughout the Cedar Valley and the Cedar Rapids-Iowa City Corridor to see the excitement that is brewing.

The Cedar Valley Derby Divas will also be rolling through town. Following the parade, the Push-up Brawlers will head to the beer tent to serve up some fun there. T have a pretty busy schedule with there skating and community involvement, we are lucky to have them in our lineup.

Bob Hill aka “Hillbilly Bob,” will also be in town for the Festival of Trails celebration. Hillbilly Bob has traveled through 41 states all over the country for the last 20 years with his 1929 Model A- Ford, “Old Ruthie.” A native of rural Dysart, where his family has farmed for 161 years, Hillbilly Bob will have people rolling with laughter while Old Ruthie shows off some of her tricks.

Miss Sydney, Iowa Rodeo Queen, Hannah Hilsabeck, will also make an appearance in the parade. The Sydney Rodeo is a big deal rodeo, having been around since 1923. They have one of the best facilities in the country and boast 38,000 visitors for their five day event.

Of course, the Festival of Trails Parade will also be filled with friends and neighbors representing La Porte City and the surrounding communities. Be sure to find a place on Main Street to enjoy the Festival of Trails Parade, “Looking Back and Moving Forward.”
