Recently, the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office was granted $50,000 towards the purchase of new in-car computers. This 50% matching grant from the Black Hawk County Gaming Association (BHCGA) enabled the Sheriff’s Office to replace the aging computers in the patrol vehicles for the agency, some of which are nearly 10 years old.
Without the cooperation of the Black Hawk County Gaming Association, such a purchase would have had to been made over a 5-10 year period with tax-based funds.
The computers are in the final stages of being set-up and should be ready for deployment by the end of this month.
