After a 1 game layoff the Union Knights softball team were back on the field at the North Fayette Tournament and lost to the host school North Fayette Tigerhawks 4-0.  The Tigerhawks scored 1 run in the first inning and 3 runs in the third inning.  The Knights did not score any runs offensively, but did have base runners on in five of the seven innings.  Union had a total of 4 base hits with Hailee Brown getting 2 of the hits, and Maggie Driscol and Peyton Parker each collecting a hit a piece.   They committed 3 errors defensively.  The Vikings scored 4 runs on 9 hits and committed 1 error.   Cierra Nolan was in the pitching circle for the Knights allowing 4 runs on 9 hits, while walking only 1.  She pitched a good game as the Knights did their best behind her to strand runners on base and not let the Tigerhawks score more than the 4 runs they did.  Union started this game with only 9 girls available to play as 2 girls were out due to injury and 2 were at regional soccer.  The Knights started and played 4 eight graders, 4 freshman, and 1 sophomore.  The young team showed great effort and resiliency on the day as they improved from game to game.  The Knights fell to 6-4 overall on the season.
