HAPPILY EVER AFTER - Story Hour participants were treated to a tour of the La Porte City Jail and Fire House Museum, as Hawkins Memorial Library Director, Jolene Kronschnabel (seated), took Thursday morning storytime on the road to the former site of La Porte City’s jail and firehouse. Last year, the restoration of the jail and firehouse on Chestnut Street was completed and added to the La Porte City Museum District. The building, built in 1888, will be open for viewing during the Festival of Trails Celebration on June 15 from 10 AM to 3 PM. Photo by Mary Bauer.
