Monday, April 29, Hawkeye Community College hosted a banquet and award ceremony for the Turnaround Achievement Awards. Thirty-seven high school and middle school students from across the Cedar Valley were selected based on marked improvement these students made in behavior, attitude, academics, or a combination of all three. The award acknowledges students who exemplify effort, perseverance, and commitment to overcoming adversity.

Union Middle School 8th graders Micki Loeb and Ethan Steffen were honored at this year’s 20th Annual Turnaround Achievement Awards ceremony. Union High School students recognized were sophomore Kim Reed, and seniors Dalton Adams, Kayla Monnahan, and Caid Pitcher.
