After months of planning, the big day arrived on Thursday, July 23, as thousands of riders comprising the 43rd annual RAGBRAI made their way through La Porte City. The first rider reached town at about 6:15 AM. Some 15,000 riders soon followed and Main Street was a bevy of activity as the party rocked on until shortly after 2 PM, the designated shut down time for LPC’s RAGBRAI activities.
