Thomas W. “Tommy” Elliott, Jr., 95, of La Porte City, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at La Porte City Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born April 4, 1918, in Benton County, the son of Thomas W. and Anna Kaiser Elliott, Sr. He graduated in 1938 from La Porte City High School. He attended Iowa State University. He married Virginia E. Crummer on December 7, 1940, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua; she preceded him in death on July 17, 2007.

He farmed in Geneseo until 1956 and then moved to Liberty, MO where he was an Order Buyer of Feeder Cattle for Kansas City Stock Yard, retiring in the late 1980’s. He relocated back to La Porte City in 2001.

He is survived by three sons, David (Laura) Elliott of Chino Valley, AZ, Thomas (Marsha) Elliott, III of Fullerton, CA, Mark (Bobbie) Elliott of Holt, MO; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and one sister, Marjorie Rausch of La Porte City.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Virginia; five brothers, George, Harold, Donald, Merle “Gene” and Elvin and three sisters, Mable Zobel, Elizabeth “Toots” Niemeyer and Charlotte Elliott.

A Memorial Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with inurnment in the West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City.  Family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
