The familiar holiday tune says, “Baby, it’s cold outside.” And while that may be true, it’s anything but cold at Tootsie’s, one of La Porte City’s newest eating establishments, located at the intersection of Commercial and Main at the site of the former Union Station. Owners Corey and Teresa Siebert, along with their three adult children, Stephanie, Michelle and Michael, currently operate the business, open 11 AM-8 PM daily. In addition to ice cream and other frozen treats, Tootsie’s has a full menu of sandwiches, sides and appetizers, sure to satisfy on the coldest of days. Orders may be placed by phone at 342-2746. The Sieberts noted that plans are to remain open through the winter months, though weather conditions may dictate hours of operation.
