The Union High School Drama Department is bringing fantasy to life with its production of Fairy Tale Follies.
“Fairy Tale Follies is a combination of four, well known fairy tales which young and old should easily recognize. I don’t want to give the tales away, I want people to come out and relive their childhoods,” said Dean Bostian, drama director.
“To encourage the entire feeling of post-Halloween with the idea of bringing fairy tales to life, we are encouraging our audience to dress as their favorite fairy tale characters. If you do, you will get two dollars off the price of admission. We will also be having a meet and greet with the cast prior to each performance, so your children, and yourselves if you want, can get your pictures taken with your favorite characters,” he added.
With a cast and crew of 70 students, Bostian credits his group of seniors for helping to bring this production to life.
“If it wasn’t for the fantastic group of seniors who are taking part in the play this year, this production would not happen. Many of them have been part of the production their entire high school careers, and for others, it is their first year. No matter if pro or amateur, the seniors have been great and will be deeply missed after this year,” he commented.
The show is slated to hit the stage at Matt Auditorium at Union High School on Saturday, November 5th at 7 PM. A Saturday matinee at 2 PM will follow on November 6. Tickets are $5, but activity passes will be accepted, and, as stated before, dress as your favorite fairy tale character to save $2 off the price of admission. Meet and greet with the cast will begin 90 minutes before each show.
“This is the biggest cast and crew I have ever had for a show. It has been an amazing undertaking, and I hope everyone will take time to leave their ordinary lives behind and come for two hours of fun, memories, laughs, and a break from reality.”
