Sophomore Kyle Cowell shot his best round of the year by six strokes to lead Union to a second place finish (170) at the BCLUW Invitational Tournament on May 2 in Conrad. He has been putting in a lot of extra time in the mornings and it is starting to pay off. He is getting off the tee consistently and is starting to make putts which has lead to his improvement. Hunter Reel was struggling with his driver, but relied on his short game to bring in a solid round. All four of our top performers earned All-Tournament Honors. Hunter and Kyle tied for 4th overall (41) and Kole tied for 10th (43). Our score in this meet was our best of the year.
The following afternoon, Union put the pressure on Denver, dropping a narrow two stroke decision at LPC Golf Club.
Denver (175): Iazzk Shedenhelm (Runner-Up Medalist) 41, Zach Miller 44, Ben Buhrun 45, Blake Steege 45
Union (177): Hunter Reel (Medalist) 41, Treyton Slater 42, Kole Hedeman 43, Kyle Cowell 51
