The Waterloo Community Playhouse is announcing that they are replacing the show Mr. Burns with an evening of one-act plays.  The plays that will be performed are The Zoo Story by Edward Albee and A Bench at the Edge by Luigi Jannuzzi. The decision to change the shows was made by the Board of Directors due to the technical requirements for Mr. Burns could not be met at the venue where the show was scheduled.

The event will  be held at the McCoy Amphitheatre in the Hartman Reserve Nature Center.  Performance dates are July 31 & August 1 & 2. Both plays deal with mature subject matter so parental discretion is advised. The shows will be directed by guest director, Joe Frenna, a local playwright and director.

Auditions for the two shows will be Saturday, June 6 at 1pm and Tuesday, June 9 at 6:30 pm. The Zoo Story is a play for 2 male actors. A Bench at the Edge calls for two speaking roles (either gender) and 2 non-speaking roles.  Auditions are open to all regardless of age, sexual orientation, gender, or ethnicity.  No prior experience is required.
