At her final appearance at the Iowa State Girls and Boys State Track Meet, Union senior Maria Wrage went out on top. With a leap of five feet, five inches, Wrage successfully defended her Class 3A State High Jump title, edging Greene County freshman, Megan Durbin, by an inch.

Wrage’s performance, along with a second place finish by sophomore Megan Hudson in the 100 meter hurdles led the Union girls to an 11th place finish in the Class 3A team standings.

Also scoring team points for the Union girls was the 4×100 Meter Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Anna Garwood, Natalie Sallee, Hudson and Kaitlin Holschlag, who placed fifth. Garwood also placed eighth in the 200 Meters.
